Chelsea's Charity

Tragically in 2007, Grade 7 student, Chelsea Deforest was killed in a car accident.  Chelsea was a kind and generous person, who always was looking out for others. Before she died, she was organizing a "Pink Day" to raise money for breast cancer.  When she died, many of her friends decided to honour her in the best way they knew how, and to ensure "Pink Day" would go on as planned.  It was from this that "Chelsea's Charity" was born.  Now, each year Stewarttown's Student Parliament chooses a charity and makes a donation in Chelsea's name.  Parliament has donated to:
Canadian Breast Cancer foundation - 2007-2008
Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation - 2008-2009
Upper Credit Humane Society - 2009-2010
        Canadian Red Cross - 2010-2011
The Creation of Hope - 2011-2012
                                              Halton Women's Place - 2012-2013
                                              CASHH - 2013-2014
                                              Right to Play - 2015-2016
                                              Ronald McDonald House - 2016-2017

This year, we are working with Plan International and their Spread the Net Campaign.  Stewarttown has a BIG goal this year, being that it is the 10th Anniversary of Chelsea's death and we will be raising money, in Chelsea's name in the 2017-2018 school year.  We are kicking off our fundraising on Friday June 9th, with our "Spring Fling" Dance.  All money raised from this event will go towards our campaign.

If you wish to make a donation in Chelsea's name please visit our fundraising page:  Spread the Net
